Barron's MAT prep book really helped me pass the test. The book has a pre-test and 11 practice tests of 120 questions, and there's another practice test online. There's also an excellent explanation and classification of the types of analogies, and how they correspond to each other. Definitely, not a waste of money! I only had 6 days to prepare and managed to do only 6 of the practice tests. Using this book along with flashcards, I passed the MAT with a 412.
It is tough to find good prep material for this rather obscure exam, but this is by far the best book I have found. Barron's made quite a few updates to this edition--lots of new questions and practice. Highly recommend!
Not 5/5 yet. I haven’t taken the test. Other than that. Just what I needed.
This was a great study aid with a little added common sense watching for patterns. I aced the exam the first time made a 400.

Bought this for my son. He hasn't looked at it yet, but I had a panic attack when I looked at it. I have a graduate degree from tulane university . Of course , I graduated in 1987. I flunked the pre test. Great book, just hope my son does better than I did.
The information in this book is generally the same as other MAT study guides. Any guide is better than none but the others have more accurate practice tests and information. I recommend the Kaplan or For Dummies books. It is also worth the cost to take the Pearson practice tests online.
This book helped me increase my ability to take the test, learn the strategies for the test, and feel confident in taking the test. I am so grateful for buying this book.
