Great Book! However it is as the title says it is "Basic" certainly not for someone who has prior experience in lighting designs.

Outdated and insufficient. But a good beginner book that covers the basics. I would suggest buying one of the bigger more expensive books, but if this is all you can afford, it is worth the money.

This book makes the basics of lighting layers and the terminology used by professionals and in the trades understandable.

I liked the fact that explains every single situation in lighting design. Gives sketches and specific instructions for every room.

Well, I have only had one lighting book.. this is it. So I guess I am not the best person to judge. It does have a lot of great information. I used this book for my basic lighting course at FSJC.
